Farmer's Market
Farmer’s Market
Bec and I both love and appreciate our North Carolina Farmer’s Market! She especially enjoys it because the vendors are from North Carolina and grow their own vegetables, flowers, and plants right here in the state. But I have my own reasons for loving it.
- I really appreciate it when many of the vendors offer free samples of their products. Today, I got quite a few, and from one vendor, I even received two free samples!
- The vendors are as genuine as their products. They’re down-to-earth, and some even look like they just stepped out of a strawberry patch or corn field.
- The products are as fresh as they can be, and many are grown without harmful chemicals.
- The vendors are so friendly. I know it might seem like they’re just trying to sell their product, but they don’t mind chatting with you about it and sharing the hard work that goes into bringing them from the field to the market. Several vendors are international and are primarily the ones that sell beautiful, fresh-cut flower bouquets.
- And so many people! There are still people who love to cook, and Becky is one of them. She chats with the vendors and others who are interested in a product about recipes.
- And, the folks who come to the market come from all walks of life, and most of them are very friendly and courteous. It’s a blessing to me to “chew the fat” with them and hear their homegrown stories.
I’ll definitely be back, if only to be around such wonderful, friendly people, most of whom I won’t see again or recognize. I’m returning next Saturday so that I can sample a fresh strawberry or eat homemade salsa made from a grandmother’s prized recipe, and buy it from her granddaughter and her husband.
Thanks to God for giving me a place like this just down the road from where Becky and I live.
